Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii-Waimea Clubhouse Summer Program- 2010

•June 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Waimea Clubhouse hires teens through the State Workwise Summer Youth Employment Program.  West Kauai teens are given the opportunity to learn important work skills, receive training, earn a paycheck, and stay off the streets.   With job opportunities scarce on the West for youth, this will give teens the drive and heightened self-esteem to move forward for a brighter tomorrow.  This summer the teens are learning to receive clerical, janitorial, custodial, farming, planting, irrigation, conservation, graffiti removal, beach cleanup, outreach, and positive youth development training.

Teens also assist BGCH staff with program activities for youth ages 7- 12, snack preparation, excursions, gym and field sports.  Teens are required to be to work on time, have work shoes, dress appropriatly, respect BGCH staff, youth, volunteers, and visitors.  BGCH teen director has been doing a great job with these teens.  For more information call us at 338-1418.
